As expected, more snow fell
last night, but surprisingly, only amounted to 0.20” of liquid equivalent
precipitation. A few more snow showers are still possible but likely will not
amount to much, with clouds thinning and breaking up leading to a warm up (up
to 37F so far). Winds have been very light, possibly no more than 5 kt for the
maximum. Day 6 low still looks to occur at the end tonight as clear skies, calm
winds, and fresh snow cover lead to good radiational cooling, which should
continue through the night for a cold day 7 low. More sunshine than the past
couple of days will lead to a quick daytime warmup, even with the snow cover,
but the snow cover will probably prevent it from getting overly warm or too
much warmer than model guidance. Clouds will increase late in the afternoon
with a shower or two possible, but likely will form too late to really affect
the high temperature. Winds will be very light again.
