Day 15 recap:
Sky was clear last night and winds briefly lightened just a tad late in the night, and it dropped to 64F. Some low-mid level clouds did develop in the morning but not nearly as much as late last week. As expected, temperatures soared to 90F with the sunshine and southerly flow. However, there was quite a contrast across the dry line with warm, moist air to the east and hot, extremely dry air to the west. A couple of storms initiated so far just to the north in southwestern Oklahoma, though nothing appears to be hitting Wichita Falls.

Day 16:
A relatively weak cold front will pass tonight, likely with just some clouds and a brief surge of strong winds as winds switch from southerly to northerly.

It will be completely sunny tomorrow, and the air mass is much drier and not that cool, so it will still warm well into the 80s. It will also be breezy for the first half of the day with the strong daytime heating causing mixing of stronger winds aloft down to the surface, before the winds and pressure gradient relax in the afternoon. The clear sky, dry air, and lightening winds tomorrow night will lead to rapid radiational cooling, in addition to the weak cold advection still taking place. This will lead to the low likely being at the late 06z (Sunday 06z), though there is also a chance of a last minute rapid cooldown tonight as winds weaken for a brief time behind the cold front, with clear skies.

Side note, this is last day of the tournament and bonus city! As such, this is the last blog of the 2021-22 season. Hopefully, I will be able to resume this blog for the 2022-23 season when it starts in late September.
