Wind stayed just strong enough
to prevent good radiational cooling, with a low of 34F last night. It warmed up
quickly to 61F, higher than expected, with the surge of northerly wind with the
passage of a weak secondary cold front not having arrived yet. Tonight, winds
will weaken more than last night, enough for better radiational cooling and
cooler temperatures than last night, with skies remaining completely clear.
With full sunshine tomorrow again, it will warm up quickly, but will be
slightly cooler than today given the cooler air mass behind the secondary cold
front. It’s not clear if it will exceed model guidance as much with the winds
being much weaker and changing direction. Winds will be quite weak due to high
pressure cresting overhead during the day tomorrow, with no wind from aloft to
mix down. The maximum wind might actually occur near the beginning or end of
the period.
