Day 8 of Rapid City, SD (KRAP)

Winds did not strengthen until 10-11z, so it continued to cool down to 39F until then. Full sunshine led to a high of 77F, with a maximum wind of 24-26 kt. It will be cloudless again tonight into tomorrow. Some subtle downsloping westerly winds will slow down the cool down a bit tonight, but will be just light enough to promote pronounced temperature dips occasionally. North-northwesterly winds resume tomorrow but will be weaker than during the day today, and it will actually be a few degrees warmer with a bit of warm advection continuing. Winds weaken rapidly after sunset, which could possibly lead to the low being at the end (Saturday 06z), but it would have to cool down very fast (or tonight struggling to cool down) for that to happen.
