Winds calmed down late last night, but a bit surprisingly, it still didn’t cool down that quickly, with a low of 33F. Perhaps yesterday’s much warmer than modeled high temperature was a sign of the air mass being warmer than modeled in general. Today, it warmed up quickly to a high of (likely) 56F, and the max wind is 12 kt, which actually occurred at the beginning of the period last night. Tonight, light southerly winds will develop, but they will not be enough to inhibit decent radiational cooling, with skies still remaining completely clear. However, with warm advection, it will be warmer than last night. With full sunshine tomorrow again, it will warmup quickly, more so than yesterday with southerly flow leading to warm advection, with a similar model bias to today. Winds will be stronger than today but will not be overly strong. The full sunshine and vertical mixing will lead to efficient mixing of any stronger winds aloft down to the surface. It will probably be slightly warmer for the high with slightly less wind than USL like day 6.
