Partly to mostly
cloudy skies, light wind, and dry air initially led to a cooldown to 41F last
night before clouds arrived again, stopping the cool down. A few showers this
morning didn’t lead to any measurable rain. It then turned sunny again, with a
high of 55-56F, above most model guidance. The northwesterly winds haven’t
really started but should soon. Winds will calm down tonight, and with skies
finally staying mostly clear this time with dry air, quick radiational cooling
will take place, likely colder than most models. Mostly sunny skies will lead
to a rapid warmup tomorrow to a similar or slightly warmer high than today,
even with the colder start, as the stronger March sun mixes out the nocturnal
inversion completely. The daytime heating will likely lead to a northwesterly
sea breeze again tomorrow afternoon, though it will be much weaker than today
with the synoptic-scale northwesterly winds being weaker.
