Day 12 of 2021-22 Individual Tournament City: Wichita Falls, TX (KSPS)

Day 11 recap:

Though it remained clear through sunrise, with a low of 67F, clouds arrived just afterward and were incredibly stubborn all day, whereas it cleared out substantially elsewhere. As such, high temperatures were lower than expected at 87F achieved at the last second when the sun finally came out. The lack of daytime heating also meant that the strong southerly winds from aloft could not efficiently mix down to the surface until evening.

Day 12:

Skies are finally clearing this evening and although clouds will likely develop again late tonight, it will not be much of a factor for the low tonight, though strong southerly winds will prevent good radiational cooling again. Tomorrow will start off rather cloudy like today, but winds will shift to south-southwest, which should push the low clouds off to the east with only some thin high cirrus remaining by late afternoon. This should lead to a warmer high temperature than today, though there is some model disagreement on this. Winds will be slightly weaker as the core of the low-level jet moves off to the east. There is also a chance of a thunderstorm as the dry line crosses tomorrow evening, though the best dynamic support is off to the north.
