Day 9 recap:
As expected, there was decent radiational cooling last night, dropping to 44F. The high clouds were relatively thin, and the low clouds did not form. It was mostly sunny early on today, and temperatures soared to 74F. The daytime heating also promote mixing of strong winds down to the surface with a max of 28 kt. However, a cluster of thunderstorms formed to the west by early afternoon and their anvils spread over Wichita Falls, stopping the warmup. The few who dared to forecasted precip will do well as the storms have been more widespread than expected with a storm nailing the KSPS station, producing 0.34"!

Day 10:
The storms have cooled down substantially to 56F by evening, far lower than any of the models. This could affect the low, as the mesoscale outflow from the storms could temporarily suppress the strong southerly winds at the surface until after 06z and therefore cause a cooler low.

However, low clouds and southerly winds will ramp up later in the night (with the influence of the cold outflow diminishing) and switch to southwesterly tomorrow ahead of a cold front. The turning of the wind, compressional heating, and clearing skies ahead of the front will lead to a very hot and breezy day.
