Mostly cloudy skies (though not quite
overcast), with a mix of mid and high level clouds will hinder radiational
cooling tonight, though there will be cooling from evaporational cooling due to
scattered showers raining into initially very dry low-level air. Skies will
remain mostly cloudy (though not quite overcast) tomorrow, with a mix of clouds
at almost all levels. Scattered showers will likely continue through the day
tomorrow, and combined with the clouds, will limit daytime heating, but not
prevent it completely. It’s a tricky forecast all around with both high and low
temperatures highly dependent on exactly how thick the clouds are. With a
squall line passing to the south tonight, mostly robbing the moisture from the
showers to the north over Tulsa, rainfall amounts are expected to be relatively
light. Stiff northeasterly winds will dominate through the night and day
tomorrow, but with brief periods of enhanced winds only high-resolution models
really pick up on, due to wake lows or mesoscale gravity waves generated by the
squall line and other convection to the southeast.
