Day 11 of Tulsa, OK (KTUL)

A cool but not exceptionally cold and broad high pressure to the north will provide stiff northeasterly winds tonight into tomorrow. The winds will provide modest cold advection but also prevent ideal radiational cooling tonight despite mostly clear skies. The cold air is not particularly shallow, and without any reinforcement from precipitation, temperatures might actually stay on the higher side of models tonight. It will be mostly sunny tomorrow, leading to a decent warmup, though slowed by the cold advection and some high clouds. How thick the high clouds will be is questionable, leading to some uncertainty on the high temperature. However, with the dry air and lack of recent rain, it will probably get warmer than most models if it stays mostly sunny. Winds will strengthen slightly initially tomorrow after sunrise due to the sunshine and daytime heating leading to mixing of the winds aloft down to the surface, though they will lighten in the afternoon as the pressure gradient weakens.
