After southwesterly winds
kept the temperature up most of the night, it changed to southerly and temperatures
tumbled at the last possible moment (an hour after sunrise!), leading to a low
of 14F. With no westerly component to the wind, temperatures are not spiking
upwards like they did yesterday, with a high so far of only 34F. Air mass continues
to warm, leading to both high and low for day 8 to be warmer, perhaps by ~5F. Southwesterly
winds look slightly stronger tomorrow than today, so such a drastic last-minute
drop will likely not occur tonight, and they will also help tomorrow be
substantially warmer than today, though winds could still turn to the southeast
during the afternoon due to the diurnal cycle. Clear skies will dominate again,
except some thin, high cirrus tomorrow evening.
