Clouds prevented much
cooling last night as expected but it somehow still warmed up substantially,
with a low of 59F and high of at least 69F respectively. Surprisingly, there is
very little rain anywhere near Atlanta and only a trace has fallen at Atlanta
so far. Perhaps there is still enough convective inhibition to preclude shower
and thunderstorm formation as the best dynamics go to the north. Cold front
will slowly slide through tonight, while a southern disturbance approaches and
keeps it mostly cloudy tomorrow, as opposed to just clearing out as often happens
behind cold fronts. The clouds and light northwesterly wind leading to cold
advection will limit the warmup, and it is possible that the high is achieved
at the beginning (Friday 06z). However, it still looks dry though a shower or
two cannot be ruled out. Low will likely occur at the end again (Saturday 06z)
as cold advection continues with light northwesterly wind. Again, HRRR is probably
a bit too cool due to its quick cold advection bias.
