Day 2 of Augusta, ME (KAUG)

The cold air got delayed a bit and it only dropped to 27F last night. It warmed up to 38F with decent sunshine, even without southerly winds so far. Snow showers approach this evening but that should occur before 06z. Temperatures will initially spike tomorrow morning into early afternoon as winds turn to downsloping out of the northwest, aided by mostly sunny skies, but the cold air mass will move in as the next, much bigger storm approaches. Snow will start at or just before 06z Thursday, and the low will also be at 06z Thursday as low-level cold air continues to filter in and low-level winds shift to northeasterly, removing the downslope component.
