We move to Sarasota/Brandenton,
FL (KSRQ) today due to continued lack of weather data from the original Fort Myers
station. The more typical sunny Florida
weather will prevail this week, with light offshore northeasterly flow bringing
slightly drier air and limiting any influence from the Gulf of Mexico, despite
being only 1 mile from the ocean. Also, the lack of temperature gradient
between the Gulf of Mexico and inland during the daytime means that the
sea-breeze will be almost non-existent and overwhelmed by the offshore flow.
The persistent breeze during the night will prevent ideal radiational cooling
but clear skies will promote cooling nonetheless.
