Ideal
radiational cooling led to a low of 44F last night, though it actually
didn’t cool down as much as it could have. Full sunshine led to a rapid
warmup to 78-79F so far, a bit lower than some of the model guidance,
surprisingly. There was surprisingly 11 kt this morning with southerly
winds, despite surface high pressure dominating. Clear skies and very
dry air will lead to good radiational cooling again tonight, but not
quite as cool as last night with a little more southerly wind slightly
inhibiting radiational cooling slightly, though the winds are marginal
making quick dips possible. I suspect the HRRR is a bit cool. A slightly
stronger southerly wind tomorrow with weak warm advection will lead to
an even hotter day tomorrow compared to today, with the high likely near
to slightly above model guidance like most of the past several days. I
suspect the southerly winds will be stronger than most model guidance
(perhaps not as strong as USL), like today.
