Though the wind was more northwesterly last night, it was apparently
still too strong for good radiational cooling, with a low of -23F. This
is really surprising given how good KABR is at radiational cooling most
of the time. Full sunshine led to a quick warmup to a high of 3F, warmer
than the previous day and warmer than most model guidance. Maximum wind
is 12-13 kt, stronger than modeled. Surface high pressure crests this
evening, with almost no wind for most of the night, which should finally
lead to ideal radiational cooling, the best of all this week, though
with a slightly warmer air mass now, the actual low temperature will
probably be similar to the previous nights. The high will be
substantially warmer tomorrow than today with full sunshine and a
moderating air mass, with light southerly winds developing later in the
day, and temperatures likely getting warmer than model guidance again.
