Day 5 of Key West, FL (KEYW)

The weather this week will be about as quiet and monotonous as it could get, perhaps the most ever for a WxChallenge week, with mostly sunny skies, consistently warm to hot temperatures with almost no day-to-day variation, small diurnal range, a light to moderate northeasterly wind, and little chance of rain. Hurricane Oscar, although unexpectedly rapidly intensifying over the weekend, will pass east of Florida and will have no effect on Key West.

NNE wind, sunshine, and temps similar to today will dominate for day 5. Actually 17 kt of wind today. Perhaps more sunshine promotes more mixing of stronger winds? 85/76/17/0 today so far. That 76F was also associated with a bit of rain, and it was 77F+ otherwise. If no rain, 77F might be more likely for the low. That could be kind of splitting hairs though. Winds should be a bit weaker tomorrow.
