Stiff southerly winds will
lead to very limited cooling tonight despite only some high cirrus clouds. It
will be sunny tomorrow with strong southerly winds. With the warm air mass, sunny
skies, and drought in place, temperatures will rise quickly to record or near-record
highs tomorrow (preventing solar energy from being “wasted” into evaporating
soil moisture). The sunshine will help mix stronger winds aloft down to the
surface especially in the afternoon. Models should have a good handle on this though
could be slightly too cool for the daytime high as has been the case lately.
