Day 3 of Denver, CO (KDEN)

Strangely only dropped to 19F last night. It cooled down much more easily before this week, so I am not sure what is happening now. There were plenty of clouds but also some breaks. Perhaps the southwesterly wind was a bit too strong. Also, I had just assumed 0.00” precip for day 2 without thinking too much about it given the prevailing weather pattern. Oops! A band of briefly moderate to heavy snow dropped 0.02” this morning. It is dry now with stronger north-northwesterly winds as expected, with a maximum of 15 kt so far and a high temperature of 30F as the sun starts to shine.

Tonight, some clearing will lead to some radiational cooling though the southwesterly wind and some mid-level clouds after 06z will likely temper the cooling. The westerly winds are usually stronger than modeled at night. Dry weather plenty of sunshine tomorrow should lead to somewhat warmer temperatures than today, with continued light to moderate southwesterly wind.
