Plenty of snow on the
ground in Denver and the whole High Plains area keeping it chilly. Partly
cloudy skies and calm winds will lead to decent radiational cooling tonight, but
with lingering low-level moisture, the cooling could lead to saturation at the
very low levels, producing fog and low clouds that would slow or stop the cool
down. After whatever fog and low clouds quickly burn off after sunrise tomorrow,
a decent warmup follows with sunny skies (except for a few clouds moving in for
the afternoon), but the bright white snow cover will reflect much of the sun’s
energy away and probably prevent it from getting above freezing. The snow cover
has also led to daytime temperatures not getting as warm as most models have
predicted recently. Winds will be light initially tomorrow before northerly
winds take over for the afternoon, although they will not be that strong.
